Cicada’s Song

Lian Ying is the only woman in the martial arts troupe. One day, a richly adorned lady from a prominent family arrives at the troupe.

The lady wants to find a bodyguard and martial arts instructor for her daughter.

When she sees Lian Ying, the lady's eyes light up.

In her view, men are clumsy and inconvenient, while a woman would be more attentive and meticulous when teaching.

Following the lady's instructions, Lian Ying goes to the other estate to teach the young lady from the prominent family. The lady only says that her daughter is gentle and frail, and asks Lian Ying to patiently teach her more self-defense techniques.

The lady was being modest. She didn't mention that her daughter stood seven chi tall and looked even more powerfully built than she did, with a physique made for martial arts.

But when Lian Ying sees the young lady's face, beautiful enough to make fish sink and geese fall, she understands why the lady worries her daughter might be bullied.

Lian Ying devotes herself to teaching the young lady martial arts.

One day, the young lady stares at her, then suddenly gives her a kiss.

Later, the lady rushes over to find Lian Ying. It turns out her daughter had no intention of learning martial arts. Before Lian Ying even arrived, she'd slipped away and left a letter for her eldest brother, telling him to make sure he sent that female martial artist away.

Lian Ying falls into deep thought.

No wonder he picked everything up as soon as she taught him, even drawing inferences from it. He'd been playing her for a fool.

And he even kissed her!
