What's the Difference Between Being a Sidekick to a Dragon-Aotian and Making It in the Real World?

[The original idea wasn't going anywhere, so I've changed the premise. Sorry QAQ] As a fourth-year university student, Xie Ling was preparing for the civil service exam when an accident turned him into an employee of the quick transmigration Bureau. As a newcomer, he didn't have many assignments left to choose from. One of them was a job everyone disliked: go to a cultivation world and become the sidekick of the Chosen Ones. He would play the sole heir to one of the cultivation world's greatest families, helping the Chosen Ones when the plot called for it. He and Chosen One A hit it off after a fight. When A was gravely wounded, Xie Ling alone drove off the pursuers and saved his life. He and Chosen One B felt like old friends at first sight. Xie Ling spent a fortune to buy a rare spirit plant and give it to him, simply to win his friendship. He and Chosen One C were the closest of friends. When C claimed a priceless treasure and was besieged outside a secret realm, Xie Ling raced a thousand miles upon hearing the news. Alone, sword in hand, he held the entrance to the realm, his white robes stained red with blood, so Chosen One C could leave safely. Xie Ling: Why does nobody want such a great job? System: ...Huh? Xie Ling: The heir's position is secure, and he has high status in the cultivation world. I only have to follow a set plot and work short hours. I might have to travel for work once in a while, but the rest of the time is mine to do as I please. How is this any different from landing a stable job? System: ...Maybe they don't like having to answer to someone else? Chosen One A left him a life-thread. No matter how far apart they were, the moment Xie Ling severed it, A would come rushing to him. Chosen One B used the rare spirit plants he'd painstakingly collected to craft a tribulation-crossing pill for him. Chosen One C offered him the secret realm he had barely survived to obtain, along with several treasures hidden inside. That day, after ten thousand years, the Heavenly Ascension Stairway from the Immortal Realm appeared once more in the cultivation world. A cool, immortal-looking figure in white slowly climbed its steps, while cultivators throughout the world called out fervently to Immortal Xie Ling. Xie Ling: I became an immortal before the Chosen Ones did. I'm so amazing, hehe! (Proud face.jpg) System: 6. Theme: Work hard, get promoted, and earn a raise.
