My Cousin Is Frail and Sickly [Dream of the Red Chamber]

[Advance notice screenshot taken] (Originally titled "[Dream of the Red Chamber] The Tale of Jia Ying")

Lin Daiyu was an unmatched beauty, ethereal and graceful, born into a noble marquis's family. She was renowned for her talent in Yangzhou and famed as an unparalleled beauty.

It was only when her father was promoted to an official post in the capital and the young girl visited the Rongguo Mansion with her mother that she caught a fleeting glimpse in the hall and discovered that the world held a cousin who was refined and noble through and through, with a talent that seemed to challenge the heavens.

He was handsome, humble, and exceptionally gifted, but poor health left him unable to take the imperial examinations.

In the long corridor, Lin Daiyu, who had never paid much attention to worldly things, found her gaze drawn to the young man. "May I ask your name, cousin?"

He dared not meet her eyes, lowering his head to cough softly. "My surname is Jia, and my given name is Ying. I'm a shallow man, hardly worth mentioning to you, Cousin."

The Rongguo Mansion had three cousins, Jia Zhu, Jia Lian, and Jia Ying. Of them, Second Master Ying was the strangest. Whenever he encountered Daiyu, he would avoid her, as if she were a flood or a savage beast.

The young girl also began having strange dreams at night.

In her dreams, she had neither mother nor father, and this cousin seemed to be the most important confidant in her life...

[Reader's Guide]

1. The male lead is Jia Ying (reborn), and the female lead is Lin Daiyu (she will regain her memories of her past life). Both are each other's first and only, with a happy ending. I want to fulfill a Baoyu-Daiyu dream.

2. A frail, devoted gentleman x a light and lively beauty who knows how to reel him in.

3. The male lead's past life was dark and wretched. After being reborn, he secretly loves the heroine and feels inferior, believing he isn't worthy of her. Still, he always gives her the best in his own way, including, but not limited to, keeping Lin Ruhai and Jia Min together...

4. In this life, the male lead is absolutely a model of male virtue. There is no scheming female rival in this story, though there will be a little angst for the male lead.

5. The writing style is nothing like Dream of the Red Chamber. It's a historical romance in costume only.

Theme: Young master, he waits for his beloved and seeks a love he can embrace with ease.
