This Little One Has Two Sides

That was the first time Song Li saw the pampered little prince. Song Li was lying in the snow, his body marked by the eunuchs' lashes. Looking at the exquisitely dressed child before him, he silently turned his face away.

But the child crouched down, holding out the candy he'd been clutching so tightly that it had begun to melt. With a reluctant expression, he said, “You can have this candy. From now on, you're mine.”

From that day on, a “study companion” named Song Li followed the little prince around.

Everyone knew Song Li was a hostage sent by an enemy kingdom. So when the little prince said he wanted Song Li as his study companion, the emperor wanted to refuse.

But the little prince begged and pleaded, and since the emperor had already promised, he could only agree, albeit unwillingly.

What would happen to the little prince's study companion after that agreement, however, was something the little prince didn't know.

Even though nothing but darkness still lay ahead, Song Li changed because the little prince had let a glimmer of light into his life.
