The White Moonlight Woke Up and Quit

When heavenly retribution descended a thousand years ago, everyone knew that Immortal Venerable Shen Xi had sacrificed himself to power the formation, giving his life to save millions. He was everyone's hero. What no one knew was that Shen Xi's sect had found his body and preserved it, perfectly intact, in an ice chamber. His sect, friends, and family missed him every day. They even secretly raised a vessel to keep him alive while waiting for him to possess it and be reborn. But when they finally gathered the last herb, everyone had already grown attached to the vessel. They couldn't bring themselves to switch Shen Xi's soul into it, so instead they used the medicine to heal the vessel's body. For the vessel, perhaps it was a happy ending with the whole family together. At that moment, Shen Xi awoke. He had thought he would wake to a joyous reunion with his family and fellow disciples, but instead, everything he had once possessed had been given to someone else. Even the affection they had felt for him had been transferred to another. The Immortal Venerable was left in an awkward position. The only one who still clung to him was his old enemy, the Demon Venerable... So the beloved Immortal Venerable Shen Xi had had enough and ran off with the Demon Venerable.
