Tan Xingqiao, the chief resident in the neurosurgery department at First Affiliated Hospital, has been acting strangely lately. People keep spotting him sneaking off to a corner to make calls and arrange dates with different girls.

Last week he asked out his older sister: "Que-jie, want to go for a walk tonight? The weather's been nice lately."

This week it was someone else: "A-Luan, I've got a big surprise for you!"

His junior colleagues were full of admiration. "That's Tan for you, enjoying the company of all those beauties. I'm jealous."
