[Third-person narration | Д í )!!]
1.
You used to be an utterly unremarkable small-time Gotham villain. You'd been the lackey of almost every supervillain and had plenty of criminal experience.
Then, on an equally unremarkable day, you transmigrated.
...But something about the place you'd transmigrated to seemed off.
2.
At a restaurant, you see a woman with a worried look on her face use her backpack to block the view as she pours a deadly poison into her companion's cup. You choose to:
“Use this. Blowing this place up would be safer.”
You readily slip a bomb you'd picked up into her hand and switch out the cup of water.
By your reckoning, she should now put on an evil grin and laugh as she throws the bomb into the crowd...
Instead, with the police closing in and nearly arresting you, you stare at her through the crowd in bewilderment.
Huh?
Why did she call the police?
3.
At a shopping mall, a vicious man holds you at knifepoint as a hostage. He yells that he's planted a bomb at the entrance to the police headquarters. You choose to:
“No one should be passing by there right now. If you're going to blow something up, blow this place up instead.”
You generously share your criminal expertise with him. Having learned your lesson last time, you only slip him a detonator in secret.
By your reckoning, he should take the detonator, blow this place up to taunt the police, and preferably leave behind a cold-blooded one-liner...
Instead, with the police and reporters who are actually at the scene this time surrounding you for an interview, you stare at him through the crowd in confusion.
Huh?
Why is he crying in fright?
4.
The criminals in this city don't seem very bright. How come they always have so many reasons and excuses when they get caught? Don't you have quotas to meet?
5.
At long last, your efforts pay off. You've finally joined a criminal organization that looks pretty reliable. A life of lying flat is just around the corner!
On your first day at work, the organization's top assassin points at the computer screen and says coldly, “This is the death list for the APTX series of poisons.”
You scroll through the screen and respond encouragingly, “The organization sure is patient.”
“So what about yesterday's?”
6.
The top assassin gives you a look that says you're the one with a problem.
You're even more confused. “Huh? After you made the poison, you didn't release it on a massive scale and test it on the whole city?”
7.
And so, on your very first day in the organization, you became a member with a codename.
8.
...This place doesn't seem to have much of a future either. When is Batman coming to take you back to Gotham? You're practically the undisputed king of Japan's underworld now!!
1. The villain is from Gotham and sees the world through the lens of American comics, so to the locals, things are pretty dark (?).
2. The villain has no romantic pairing. Different art styles have reproductive isolation.
3. American comic characters only appear in the villain's stories or as background characters. They probably won't show up in person until near the end, so enjoy without worry.
4. The author is a fan of the police academy group and Shinichi, so everyone who can survive will survive. Organization, rest assured (; ` O′)o
Theme: Even a small-time villain can have their day in the sun
