Winter Flame

- Cool girl x cool guy 1. Cheng Yan and Ji Shiyu had spent years competing for first and second place, neither willing to give in to the other. To make their "war" even more intense, their homeroom teacher simply made them deskmates. But after overhearing them bicker so often, Director Song from the discipline office mistakenly took them for a classic case of students dating. In the office, after Cheng's mom and Ji's mom had finished receiving their reprimand, they hesitantly looked at each other. "How about we exchange contact information?" 2. New Year's Eve. Ji Shiyu suddenly showed up in Cheng Yan's living room. Watching their mothers act like old friends, Cheng Yan tilted her head and stared blankly at Ji Shiyu. "How do they know each other?" Ji Shiyu shrugged. "Thanks to Director Song for bringing them together." Cheng Yan: "..." Ji Shiyu grinned. "My mom was so enthusiastic, she nearly proposed on the spot." Cheng Yan smiled falsely. "If I married you, your life would be over. You'd be finished." Ji Shiyu: "..." 3. Ji Shiyu: I don't want to live anymore. Cheng Yan: ??? Calm down. Ji Shiyu: So marry me! Cheng Yan: ... -- Advance Preview -- 1. Jingzhe grew up with her grandmother in the mountains, far out in the countryside. She was simple and unworldly. When it was time for high school, Uncle Lin brought her to the city to attend a prestigious school. He hoped she would keep his son Lin Xiao, who failed every subject, company and help him study hard. Before Jingzhe left, her grandmother patted her head and said, "Uncle Lin is really doing this so you can get a better education. Don't let him down. Study hard, and help Lin Xiao too, all right?" Jingzhe nodded firmly. "I understand." The city had so many cars and such tall buildings. Jingzhe found it hard to adjust, but she kept reminding herself that she had to help Lin Xiao. When Lin Xiao got into a fight, she handed him a broom. When Lin Xiao got disciplined, she wrote his self-criticism. When Lin Xiao was hungry, she cooked for him. Lin Xiao... Lin Xiao, who was always at the cutting edge of fashion, watched her wear a grandma-style floral blouse and extremely retro jeans, plant peanuts in the garden, use scallions as ornamental plants, knit herself a sweater, and even try to sew patches onto his ripped jeans. He said earnestly, "Don't fall for me. We're not right for each other." Jingzhe looked at him in confusion, then slowly nodded. 2. An upperclassman confessed to Jingzhe. She shook her head and said she couldn't date so young, but he gently told her they could just be friends. Jingzhe agreed. She did her friend's homework and even gave him a scarf she'd knitted herself. Lin Xiao increasingly felt that something was off. One day, unable to take it anymore, he grabbed Jingzhe. "Are you getting back at me?" Jingzhe looked at him, puzzled. "Hm?" Lin Xiao asked, "What do you like about him?" Jingzhe thought it over. "He's good-looking, he's a nice person, and he likes the things I give him." The next day, Young Master Lin, who was usually at the cutting edge of fashion, wore a pair of perfectly conventional straight-leg jeans and a shirt buttoned all the way to the top. Holding the eco-friendly tote bag she had given him, he pursed his lips and said, "Am I not better-looking than him?" Jingzhe still looked at him in confusion. "What's gotten into you lately?" Lin Xiao was silent for a full ten seconds. "I want to pull out the roses in the garden and plant peanuts for you." Jingzhe's eyes lit up. "Can you really do that?" Lin Xiao looked serious. "But you know, land in the city is expensive. I'm saving that plot for my wife." Jingzhe: "..." Message: Study hard and strive to become people who contribute to society.
