A Marriage to Provoke

The Mu family brought a little girl named Shu Mingyan back from a small town in Jiangnan. As she grew up, Shu Mingyan became a beauty with skin as smooth as jade, graceful and charming, with an exquisite face. She was also talented in calligraphy and painting. The old master of the Mu family was pleased with her and wanted to keep her in the family forever, so he arranged a marriage between her and his eldest grandson, Mu Zhiyan, while they were still young. Her best friend sighed for her. “Mu Zhiyan has so many women around him. He clearly hasn’t had his fill of playing around. Do you really want to marry a playboy like that?” Shu Mingyan didn’t want to marry him, but everything she had came from the old master Mu. She had no room to resist. Later, the man everyone in the Mu family feared returned from a business trip. He was Mu Yuchen, seven years older than her, the old master’s youngest son, Mu Zhiyan’s uncle, and the true person in control of the Mu Corporation. In the living room, Mu Yuchen sat in the seat of honor, stern and imposing, noble and dignified. No one dared make a sound. Years ago, this was the man who had carried her all the way from the town and brought her to the Mu family. Shu Mingyan knew he was her only hope of escaping her marriage to Mu Zhiyan. After dinner, Shu Mingyan followed close behind Mu Yuchen. At the bedroom door, Mu Yuchen finally stopped and looked at her with a deep, dark gaze. “Mr. Mu, I don’t want to marry Mu Zhiyan. I...” Shu Mingyan clutched the hem of her clothes and raised her watery eyes, making one last desperate bid. “Would you marry me instead?” “Hmm?” Mu Yuchen’s brows twitched, a glimmer of amusement passing through his eyes. “I didn’t hear you. Say it again.” The next day, someone saw Shu Mingyan leave Mu Yuchen’s bedroom barefoot, wearing the shirt he had worn the day before. - One night, some time later, Shu Mingyan nestled against Mu Yuchen. “If I hadn’t come to you first, would you have let me marry Mu Zhiyan?” The man leaned lazily against the headboard, twirling a lock of her hair in his hand. His voice was warm and mellow. “Why do you think I suddenly returned to the Mu family that day?” He had gone back to steal his bride. ※ Business tycoon x beautiful screenwriter, not an entertainment industry story ※ Marriage first, love later; seven-year age gap; each other’s first love Theme: Be independent and strong, and love life.
