The Night Watchman at the End of the World

When the apocalypse came, everyone who died floated up into the sky like a balloon. Those who went to investigate the sky's secrets never came back. Unwilling to face an unknown fate, people built graveyards and chained the dead to their coffins. When the wind blew, countless coffins drifted through the air, making the entire wilderness look as if it were carpeted with enormous dandelions.

Ye Mu was an apocalypse-era night watchman. His job was to sound the night watch and collect the dead. Most of the time, he gathered the remains of those who had died natural deaths inside the fortress, turning them into floating "dandelions" in the graveyard. Now and then, someone would die out in the wilderness, and if their family was willing to pay a fortune to recover the body, the night watchman would gear up and livestream the retrieval from a distance...

Ye Mu's ambitions were simple: survive, earn points, and pay his respects to the remains of his idol, Ying Mingwei.

After a night-watch mission went wrong, Ye Mu survived and became bound to a Corpse King.

The Corpse King's ambitions were simple too: come back to life, torment Ye Mu, and smash open the coffin of Ye Mu's idol, Ying Mingwei.

Until one day...

Corpse King: Ye Mu, maybe you're Ying Mingwei.
