How to Prove I Like You

Also known as: "Dating a Science Girl Makes You Want to Break Up All the Time"

Little Scene 1

The two go to see a horror movie.

Shu Yue: "I'm so scared! That ghost just suddenly appeared!"

Shi Ling: "Most paranormal events these days can be explained scientifically. The existence of ghosts and gods hasn't been proven either way. But I've analyzed this movie's plot, so the male supporting character is probably the final boss. The general progression is likely to be..."

Shu Yue, having no fun at all: "I want to break up."

Little Scene 2

Valentine's Day

Shu Yue: "It's Valentine's Day tomorrow! I'll get you some chocolate."

Shi Ling: "The fat and calories in chocolate are enough to make us gain half a kilogram. And Valentine's Day gifts are mainly a promotional gimmick by businesses. These things cost over fifty percent more than they do at other times..."

Shu Yue, with none of the joy of a holiday: "I want to break up."

Shi Ling believes that everything in the world can be explained with scientific knowledge.

Algorithms can represent everything, and the conclusions they produce are the truth.

Even love only requires figuring out an algorithm and finding its maximum value to determine whether you like someone.

And when considering the possibility of a relationship, you can't just rely on subjective wishful thinking and say you like someone. You need to use a theoretical algorithm to calculate a value.

That's why Shi Ling dislikes humanities students, those creatures who live according to their subjective feelings.

Until she meets Shu Yue.

Shu Yue is a typical humanities girl with abysmal science grades. Well-read and knowledgeable, she's loved books since childhood and dreamed of marrying her very own Prince Charming someday.

She thinks science students are emotionless, blunt men, and swears she'll never date one who has no sense of romance.

Until she meets Shi Ling.

One only trusts data and doesn't believe in love at first sight. The other has fallen in love but refuses to believe it.

Please, just get together already. Stop dragging this out!
