Blurb:
When Tang Yao went to follow up with a client and smooth things over, she happened to run into Ji Cen, a new hire at the company, getting verbally battered by a client.
Good-looking men with good tempers who are willing to work hard are rare these days. Tang Yao's heart softened (or maybe she was blinded by his looks), and she stepped in to save him.
Ji Cen didn't disappoint her. "How do you want me to thank you?"
Tang Yao replied playfully, "Dare to come home with me?"
Not long after
Ji Cen, a lonely man who kept insisting he had no parents, looked at Tang Yao and said playfully, "Dare to come home with me?"
Ji Chuan, the boss of Chongsheng Group, gave his younger brother Ji Cen two choices: find a woman and get married, or be banished to some remote region. Without hesitation, Ji Cen chose exile.
Not long after
After getting a hard dose of reality and learning how tough life could be, Ji Cen brought a woman home and said evenly, "I've decided to find a woman and get married."
Looking at the villa in front of her and her own boss's stern face, Tang Yao was furious with the lying scoundrel Ji Cen. She lowered her voice and hissed, "Ji Cen, you son of a!"
Ji Cen raised his eyes slightly and spoke louder. "My brother just looks a little old for his age, but he really isn't my uncle."
Tang Yao: "Boss, I'm sorry! It was all my fault, but you can't be without your younger brother!"
Ji Cen said sincerely, "Tang Yao, I admire how you're brave enough to insult your boss to his face."
Tang Yao: "?"
Coming soon: "Me and My Green-Tea PhD"
To escape her family's control and a meaningless arranged marriage, Wen Ying volunteered to develop new markets and new fields.
On her first day in Yincheng, she met He Fangkun.
When they exchanged names and contact information, Wen Ying was frank. "I'm firmly against marriage."
He Fangkun merely smiled. "You're so young. How can you be so sure?"
-
He Fangkun was the most highly educated person in his circle of friends, a PhD who had returned from a top-20 university in the world. Everyone respectfully called him Dr. He.
After returning to the country, Dr. He made an agreement with a woman: they would meet only once a month.
One day, Dr. He adjusted his glasses and asked Wen Ying if they could shorten the interval between their meetings.
Wen Ying: "Don't even think about it."
He Fangkun quickly followed up, "Then how about we exchange one personal detail every time we meet?"
-
At their next meeting, He Fangkun asked how things were going for Wen Ying.
Wen Ying sighed. There was a PhD position at her company that had been troubling her for a long time.
The next day, Wen Ying received a resume from a PhD who'd returned from overseas.
The only condition he made was that he wanted to complete the entire interview in one round.
Wen Ying thought it over and invited her least reliable second cousin to join the interview, mainly so she'd have someone to blame if things went wrong.
During the interview, the three parties joined the call.
Wen Ying saw the people sitting in the group's conference room: her father, her mother, her eldest male cousin, her eldest female cousin, and finally her second cousin.
On the other end was a hotel suite she knew all too well, and... the sanctimonious Dr. He.
Wen Ying was on tenterhooks throughout the interview.
She couldn't understand Dr. He's proposed research directions or his references to Nature papers. And she was sure the people in the conference room couldn't understand them either.
But they all smiled and nodded repeatedly.
Wen Ying: ...
-
After He Fangkun joined Wen Corporation, Wen Ying changed his contact name to Dr. He. After thinking it over, she angrily changed it again to Tea Dr. He.
A month passed.
At the hot spring hotel, Wen Ying predictably stood Dr. He up.
Dr. He stayed calm. Lazily leaning against the sofa, with his elbow propping up his forehead, he sent her a message. "Little President Wen, are you still working on that PhD project?"
Wen Ying thought to herself that only Dr. He would work on a project in a hotel suite.
Coming soon: "Childhood Engagements Don't Count"
When Yan Chu was in kindergarten, she heard an adult explain that children who were promised to each other when they were little were supposed to get married when they grew up. Their engagement couldn't simply be disregarded.
By that logic, Qi Jialuo was the man who would become her husband.
From then on
When Yan Chu walked, she had to hold Qi Jialuo's hand.
"Hubby, hold Chu Chu's hand."
When Yan Chu ate, she made Qi Jialuo feed her.
"Hubby, feed Chu Chu her food."
When Yan Chu went to bed, she made Qi Jialuo read her a picture book.
"Hubby, tell Chu Chu a story."
On the day Qi Jialuo's whole family moved away, Yan Chu chased their black sports car for three whole blocks, crying her heart out. "Hubby, you mustn't forget Chu Chu!"
Eight-year-old Qi Jialuo looked at the little crybaby sprawled on the ground in the rearview mirror. He clenched his fists and said nothing.
-
When the new university students arrived, Qi Jialuo recognized Yan Chu at a glance amid the sea of people. She was stretching her neck and looking around at the student club recruitment area.
Qi Jialuo swallowed his pride and greeted her warmly. "Chu Chu?"
Yan Chu, now used to everyone fawning over her, said, "Who are you?"
Qi Jialuo pressed his lips together. "..."
Seeing that he said nothing, she figured he was trying to pursue her by taking a shortcut. Yan Chu grew even more impatient. "There's a line if you want to pursue me."
Qi Jialuo nodded. "Sure. You dumped me pretty shamelessly."

It's really good to watch, I finished it in one sitting
Good guy, it's actually free for a limited time!
I finished reading it in one go. The male and female protagonists are not the perfect male and female protagonists like in Green River. They have some shortcomings in their characters, but they are really down-to-earth. I like this kind of imperfect characters, so that they feel like real people. The love between the two is not so sweet that it is unreal. Although it is a bit stiff in some places, it is overall a very interesting and cute little story.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
What is Baozi Weibo?
Looks good, feels free of charge
Like? Thanks for free. Very nice.
Thanks for the big discount!
The little face has a yellow doge
I see. The back figures of the two of them are the foreshadowing.
