Su Miao, a ghost hunter, transmigrates into a book and becomes a minor cannon-fodder character who dies as soon as she appears. She claps her hands over the ghost-summoning talisman array she’s holding. Cannon fodder? Not a chance.
She thrives in the ancient world, and makes mincemeat of every white lotus and sleazy man who crosses her path!
What? You won’t let me off even as a ghost?
With her sword pointed at a ferocious headless ghost, Su Miao gives a scoff. “Go ahead and come after me as a ghost, if you’ve got the guts. I’ll take on anyone.”
That is, until she meets the legendary Ghost Lord.
The handsome young man before her has rosy lips, bright white teeth, and eyes full of warmth. Is this really Lu Yao, the cruel, bloodthirsty Ghost Lord?
Su Miao expressionlessly puts away her weapon and turns to leave. She’s going to beat that ghost who gave her such a bogus report until even his ghost father wouldn’t recognize him!
But the man in front of her grabs her sleeve and points at a little ghost trembling in the corner. His lips press together as he says, “I can’t beat it.”
Su Miao’s mouth twitches. What’s that got to do with her? She turns to go.
But what’s with the little tagalong behind her? Why won’t he leave her alone?

Upcoming novel: "After the Cannon-Fodder Villainess Awakens, She Gets a Happy Ending with the Antagonist"
Mu Yan is notorious in the cultivation world for being spoiled and overbearing. Everyone knows she loves Chi Ling, the male lead, but can’t win his heart, and has even resorted to forcing him into marriage.
Then one day, Mu Yan awakens and realizes she is merely the villainess in a book, a woman who does every evil deed imaginable before meeting a gruesome end, ground to dust and scattered.
At this very moment, she is forcing the male lead, Chi Ling, to marry her.
Mu Yan thinks it over, then keeps the same innocent, willful smile on her face and gives an order: “Take everything off him and throw him out.”
She’d poured her heart into the male lead, only to be nothing but a stepping stone on his road to greatness. What a joke.
Mu Yan looks at another figure prostrate on the floor of the hall.
His clothes are ragged, and his face is hidden beneath a mess of hair, but nothing can conceal the menace radiating from him or the viciousness in his eyes.
He is the polar opposite of the ethereal male lead.
Like a little wolf.
He is also Su Lijin, the most ruthless villain in the story.
Mu Yan looks down at him, a faint smile appearing on her beautiful face. “Want to come with me?”
Su Lijin looks at her for a long moment, then answers in a hoarse voice, “Yes.”
Mu Yan uses the best and most potent medicine to cleanse and temper his bones. Even when the pain makes him pass out, he doesn’t utter a sound.
She throws him into the most dangerous forbidden grounds, and he fights his way out covered in blood, his killing aura so overwhelming that everyone gives him a wide berth.
Everyone thinks Mu Yan has made another mistake. There’s no way she can control a wild, vicious man like Su Lijin.
But then, at the sect competition, everyone sees the man renowned for his murderous aura waiting by Mu Yan’s side. He gently and carefully wipes the fingers she used to eat pastries with a handkerchief, every bit the refined young master.
Mu Yan is breathtakingly beautiful, with pale, delicate fingers, and looks as fresh as a green shoot, pampered by his care.
Chi Ling’s gaze is drawn to Mu Yan’s stunning beauty despite himself, but she doesn’t even look at him. Instead, her fingers glide over Su Lijin’s sharp profile. “It looks like he’s staring at me?”
Chi Ling is just about to say something when Su Lijin’s sudden, fierce and bizarre sword attack sends him scrambling backward in fright.
Once the gentle facade of the vengeful ghost falls away, the air fills with the stench of blood.
Chi Ling nearly has both eyes gouged out. A deep, long gash cuts across his face, reaching all the way to the corner of his eye.
Su Lijin’s sword tip is stained with blood. His voice is chilling, and the possessiveness in his eyes is almost overwhelming.
“Some people should know better than to look at you.”
