A Scientific Detective in a World Overrun by Curses

Undergoing a major rewrite. It is recommended that you wait until the rewrite is finished before reading. Ayatsuji, 17 years old, is a detective. After a "mistake" in solving a case, he is now being secretly executed by a sorcerer from Tokyo. "...I hereby declare: you are to be sentenced to death." The sorcerer, reportedly the strongest of the Three Great Sorcerer Families, stood before him and removed his blindfold. His smile was so arrogant it made you want to smack him. A cold glint flashed through his pale blue eyes, which gleamed with the beauty of fine jade. Ayatsuji glanced at the cursed spirits that had all vanished from the room when the other man arrived. His eyes, behind his sunglasses, were clouded with sleepy tears. At last, he had some peace and quiet. He raised the book he had left untouched for ages and replied in a perfunctory tone: "Fine. Just let me finish this book first." Ignoring the sorcerer as he turned to leave, Ayatsuji picked up his book and continued reading. Twenty minutes later, he received a distress call from the Special Division for Unusual Powers. His executioner had been unable to carry out his death sentence, so he had torn apart the Special Division for Unusual Powers instead. -------------Writing blurbs is hard, and this one doesn't match the story. Just take a look if you feel like it------------- Reader's guide: A brain-pleasing story with a nonsense blurb. The unusual power setting is related to curses; it's a kind of curse. Lots of original settings. The character's age has been adjusted! [Loudly mumbling: If there's a mistake, blame the author. I'm illiterate, so I'll admit it first!] Theme: After tomorrow, there will surely be a rainbow.
