Qi Manyue was born a demon. She had once been invincible across the cultivation world. If she hadn’t fallen for the treacherous scheme of these people and tried to protect her demon clan, she would never have been nailed to the Immortal-Slaying Platform by those useless members of the immortal sects.

More importantly, the new demon had brought order to the demon clan and earned the people’s love.

After observing them for a while, Qi Manyue decided that this new Demon King seemed pretty good. They were humble, obedient, and dedicated to their work, making them an ideal successor.

So Qi Manyue unilaterally broke her agreement. Let them disappear, then. She was already dead, after all. If she could live for one more year and see her realm and people safe, she could finally rest.

When the year was up, Qi Manyue waited for the soul contract to take her away and make her disappear. But the usually obedient and well-mannered new great demon knelt before her with a dagger, begging her to kill them.
