Something’s Off About the New Assistant

[Complete] Top pursues bottom / younger bottom / strong couple Shao Yuming was young, handsome, and wealthy, the head of a massive conglomerate. To do an elder a favor, he used personal connections to arrange for an intern who hadn’t even graduated yet to become his assistant, supposedly to learn from him. The new assistant was dull and boring, following the rules in everything. Even when Shao Yuming lost his temper, the other man only smiled faintly, like a little lamb ready to be slaughtered. Even though the assistant had an extraordinarily handsome face, Shao Yuming couldn’t muster the slightest interest in him, let alone the desire to tease him. He decided to maintain a purely professional relationship with his assistant. But even keeping things purely professional wasn’t easy. The lamb assistant never worked overtime. Once the workday ended, he vanished without a trace, ignored calls, and didn’t answer messages. He was busier than Shao Yuming, the boss. When they met the next day and Shao Yuming asked him about it, the assistant still wore an innocent expression. “The contract clearly states my working hours. Labor law says employers aren’t allowed to extend an employee’s working hours beyond the legal limit. Am I right?” Shao Yuming: … * One weekend night, Shao Yuming stopped by a friend’s bar and, amid the dazzling, surreal nightlife, caught sight of his assistant. An assistant without glasses, an assistant not wearing a white shirt, an assistant who wasn’t pretending to be clueless with a silly smile… Shao Yuming’s thoughts began to wander. As usual, he went over, ready to throw his weight around as the boss. He’d prepared an opening line, but had barely gotten one word out when his dignified head was shoved against the wall by his assistant. The assistant leaned close to his ear and asked, “You think you’re pretty tough?” * The next day, Shao Yuming covered one black eye and ground his teeth. “How dare you?!” The assistant calmly adjusted his glasses. “Boss, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Shao Yuming laughed in anger. He’d underestimated his new assistant. The man wasn’t a little lamb at all. He was a wolf pup. Shao Yuming was wrong again. His assistant proved with his actions that he was neither sheep nor wolf, but a beast unleashed from its cage and free to follow its nature. When roused, he was dangerous and captivating.
