[Shugo Chara!] Time Stands Still

"We'll stay by each other's side forever."

As Ikuto was leaving, he gently embraced Utau and pressed a cold kiss to her forehead. Utau blinked. From behind his lips, which held no warmth, she seemed to hear the sound of his heart beating passionately.

When Amu broke up with Ikuto, she was so drunk her eyes were blurred with tears. Half of her body hung on Utau as she rambled on for a long time, then suddenly asked, "What is Ikuto to you, Utau?"

"He's my brother," she said, moving her lips.

It wasn't until Amu and Ikuto had both broken up with their partners, and the two of them gathered together for dinner again, that they laughed it off.

Young love comes and goes. They were back to being alone once more.

In the end, the people around them came and went in a blur. Only they remained, an eternity in time that could never be erased.

A sibling-focused Ikuto and Utau story. Ikuto and Amu break up, as do Kukai and Utau. No character bashing.

Very short story.

Theme: The people around them come and go in a blur, but only they remain unchanged through time.
