He Wants Your Body

After failing the civil service examinations three times in a row, Scholar Tao returned home in disgrace and shut himself away. The prefecture magistrate’s daughter sent back their betrothal papers, while his biased grandmother wailed and showed up demanding money. Tao Xuanyi drifted through his days in a daze. To survive, the young scholar had no choice but to roll up his sleeves and learn the rough work of the fields. His once fair, delicate fingers, used to holding a brush, grew thick with calluses. As winter approached and the temperature plunged, the young scholar had no food at home and had to go into the mountains to search for something to eat... where he found a handsome, unconscious man. The man was solidly muscled and powerfully built. He looked like someone who could really get things done. Tao Xuanyi brought him home. That night, something cold seemed to quietly coil around his waist. Only then did Tao Xuanyi realize that the man really could get things done. A note to myself so I don’t forget: the seme has the fangs of a Mangshan pit viper, the venom of an inland taipan, and the appearance of a bamboo snake (though his temper is just a tiny bit better than a bamboo snake’s, and only a tiny bit).
