The Mermaid I Saved Went Blind [The Little Mermaid]

Su La lives in the deep sea, ten thousand meters below the surface. Her gentle mother, loving father, beautiful older sister, and handsome older brother all tell her that on her sixteenth birthday, she'll be able to swim to the surface and see the human world she's long dreamed of. What a familiar plot! Su La thinks she must be a deep-sea mermaid! Though her tail does look a little strange. Then one day, she sees a real deep-sea mermaid, with a school of sharks circling him menacingly. Only then does Su La realize something is wrong! No way! How could there be a mermaid more beautiful than me in this world?! How is his tail so much prettier than mine?! She has to save him! And secure her place as the one and only little mermaid in the whole world! After going through great pains to save the mermaid, Su La finds that the beautiful fish has mistaken someone else for his rescuer, because he's blind. He cuts off his own tail just to become human and get closer to that human princess. Su La feels so sorry for him. Why not keep that lovely tail and give it to her instead? - Su La: I saved a mermaid, but he was blind and mistook someone else for his rescuer. It doesn't bother me, though. I've saved so many fish, I couldn't count them if I tried. He's just a little special, that's all: a mermaid so handsome it's impossible not to feel fond of him. Later, he got his sight back. I swear, I was genuinely happy for him. The strange thing was, the mermaid kept staring at me, his eyes full of regret. - Ailier: The moment Su La offered herself as a sacrifice, Ailier leaped into the sea in a frenzy. He forgot that he no longer had the speed all merfolk are born with. He had once been blind, and for the sake of a false goddess, he had cut off his own tail and forced himself to grow human legs. But human legs couldn't save his little princess. [Reader's Guide] 1. A heavily reimagined version of The Little Mermaid. 2. The blurb screenshot is dated 2020.10.09.
