The Lone Isle

-Complete-

* Love triangle | Male rivalry | Unexpected arrival vs childhood sweetheart | Bittersweet push and pull

When the rain started, Chen Qingyu had just finished fighting someone.

Blood from the corner of his lips dripped onto his clothes, staining the white fabric with a grotesque red. Only when an umbrella appeared over his head and someone offered him a packet of clean tissues did he look up.

"Are you okay?"

Chen Qingyu looked up and saw Meng Xiyin beneath the umbrella. She wore a clean school uniform. Her face was fair and beautiful, clear as glass, and her eyes were as cute as crescent moons.

He instinctively wiped his hand on the hem of his clothes, then hesitated before reaching for the tissue in her hand.

"Yinyin, what are you doing here?" Someone ran over and pulled Meng Xiyin away.

"I..." Meng Xiyin tried to explain, but the other person had already pulled her out of the alley without so much as glancing at him. "Come on, hurry up. Auntie is asking us to come home for dinner."

The girl's footsteps faded at the end of the road, leaving only the droning sound of the rain.

Chen Qingyu knew that boy. Zhao Jiashu, student council president, always the top student in their grade, and a favorite of all the teachers.

He and Meng Xiyin lived in the same courtyard. They were childhood friends who had grown up together.

He called her Yinyin.

Instinct was the hardest thing to suppress, just like his love for Meng Xiyin, which was growing wildly in an abyss no one else could see.

So he fought for Meng Xiyin, got hurt for her, made a fool of himself for her, and became despised by the whole world for her.

All because he wanted to reach that ray of light.

The light called Meng Xiyin.
