Stop Pretending

Jiang Ye and Cong Rong met in the summer they were seventeen. A group of thugs cornered the boy in an alley and beat him up. A frail girl appeared out of nowhere, stood in front of him, and took a few blows in his place. After that, rumors spread around school that Jiang Ye, the hot-tempered troublemaker, had gotten together with Cong Rong, the well-behaved transfer student who ranked first in their grade. Then one day, some time later, Jiang Ye was passing the mouth of the alley when he happened to see his deskmate stopped by the same gang of thugs as before. More than a dozen tall, burly, fearsome boys had her surrounded in the middle. Jiang Ye rushed over to save her, but then the thugs suddenly produced a cup of peach oolong milk tea and respectfully offered it to her. "Sister Rong, Sister Rong, have some milk tea." "We did a great job acting in that scene last time, didn't we?"
