Love Letters

Secret crush // The playboy turns over a new leaf // Reunited after a breakup

Sweet and soft x aloof and tough

Wu Mian's longest love letter lasted eight years.

She wrote it to someone who would always be almost out of reach.

Since high school, Jin Lie had been rebellious and wildly uninhibited. There were always countless girls throwing themselves at him.

They should have been two parallel lines that would never cross.

But no one knew that after their seaside camping trip that night,

with the waves crashing in a rising tide, Wu Mian had summoned the courage to kiss Jin Lie for the first time in her life.

Through all those years of secretly loving him,

Wu Mian had become more familiar with his perpetually weary, indifferent profile than with his face.

But she never expected that after that night,

the man would lazily ask her, "Wu Mian, want to give us a try?"

Her heart pounding, she held her breath and softly said, "Okay."

But a playboy never stays for anyone.

On the day they broke up,

Wu Mian boarded a plane alone for a foreign country.

Jin Lie didn't try to stop her, but drank glass after glass at a bar until he suffered a perforated stomach.

Jin Lie had received plenty of love letters.

On the day he and Wu Mian broke up,

he received one from fifteen-year-old Wu Mian:

Jin Lie, I'm Wu Mian from Class 3, Grade 10. Will I still like you this year?

When they met again,

Wu Mian's expression was cool as she said distantly, "Sir, please show some respect."

Jin Lie pulled her against him, his dark eyes fixed on the woman before him. Gritting his teeth, he said, "Why didn't you say that when you were the one who started this?"

---"If you look at me, I'll melt gently, like snow on a volcano."
