Defeated by Arrogance

[Former Ice Queen x Mischievous Black Swan]

Gu Siwan knew Chen Yu and she were never going to get along.

She had countless admirers and followers, while he sat beside her, his plain clothes wrapped around a proud spirit, his eyes cool and distant.

She really wanted to know how much that pride of his would fetch if weighed and sold.

When disaster struck Chen Yu's family, he was at a loss. It was Gu Siwan who stepped in to help.

"We were never meant to cross paths. You were just short on money. You should be grateful for my kindness." Gu Siwan smiled, beautiful and dangerous. "You know what I want."

She wanted him to offer up his pride so she could break it and enjoy it with her drink.

In the second year of her relationship with Chen Yu, Gu Siwan left without a word.

What she didn't know was that, on countless nights after she left, he had already become a rising star in the tech industry, yet still got blackout drunk at parties. When people hurried over to help him, they heard him murmuring, "Siwan."

A little scene:

At a banquet, someone teased Gu Siwan: "You left him back then. Did you ever think he'd make it big someday?"

Gu Siwan took a small sip of red wine and smiled casually. "A so-called rising star is just a pig catching the wind and taking off. He'll never catch up to me in his entire life."

In a dim corner, Chen Yu's expression was unreadable.

She had always stood above him, leaving him to look up at her.
