The Tragic Heroine Decides to Reload and Start Over

[A short GB story! Note: Please be sure to read the author's notes, which appear before each chapter.]

Only after You Yue Li died did she learn that she was the heroine of a tragic xianxia novel.

In the novel, the Immortal Realm used her as a tool, sending her to the mortal realm to reform Feng Yan, a born villain who would become the Demon God. He abused her body and tormented her heart. She died and came back to life, only for him to chew up every last bit of her ashes.

At the end, Feng Yan pursued her after their breakup. She ran off while pregnant and gave him the cold shoulder for all of three chapters, yet some readers called her “ungrateful.”

You Yue Li: “That's all it takes to be ‘ungrateful’?”

You Yue Li returned to the day she died. The sky and earth changed color, and birds mourned.

Flames blazed on the stake. Feng Yan looked down at You Yue Li with a cold sneer. “You deceitful witch, you deserve to die.”

In an instant, demonic mist surged everywhere. You Yue Li broke free of her chains and wrapped her delicate, pale hand around Feng Yan's throat. “Then give back everything you owe me.”

Later, You Yue Li ascended to the Divine Realm as the Demon God.

The divine decree was known throughout the Six Realms: the Demon God's attendant, a lowly heavenly slave, could be insulted by anyone, from the highest immortals to the lowest demons and ghosts.

They say that slave never leaves the Demon God's side, and his blind eyes seem to burn with fervor.

They say that slave obsessively calls the Demon God by the name she had in the mortal realm.

They say that slave looks just like the Demon God once did.
