[Aloof Self-Reliance × Obsessive Perseverance]

Ask who the most outstanding boy at No. 1 High School is, and the answer is unquestionably Xu Liufeng.

Cool and aloof, poor, and distant from everyone, he always wears the same school uniform, both in and out of school, and keeps his back perfectly straight.

He ranks first among the boys, but not first in the whole school.

Above him is Shi Li: beautiful and bold, flamboyant as a blazing fire.

At the graduation dinner, Xu Liufeng confesses his feelings in front of everyone.

His friend beside him eggs Shi Li on: “You’ve been deskmates for three years. You’ve never fallen for him?”

Meeting Xu Liufeng’s gentle gaze, Shi Li smiles carelessly. “Fall for him? He’s such a simp.”

Ignoring his heartbreak and disappointment, she pulls out a key and tosses it straight to her childhood friend. “Come over to my place later.”

In her sophomore year of college, Shi Li happens to run into Xu Liufeng as he arrives to register.

He lowers his head, his breath trembling. “Shi Li, do you remember me?”

“Of course I remember you.” Shi Li presses her lips together, her smile faint.

But as she quietly draws closer, Xu Liufeng hears the roar of a rip current, surging dangerously beside his ear.

She says:

“You’re the one who stood outside my apartment building for three whole days that time.”

Reader’s Guide:

1. The female lead has experience, while the male lead does not. The female lead has a rich romantic history, while the male lead is devoted to her in both body and heart. He has never been involved in a fourth-love relationship before. The female lead has had both conventional and fourth-love relationships with male supporting characters (these are covered in the story).

2. The main couple’s relationship involves female-led intimacy throughout, while their physiology is the same as ordinary people’s.

3. The female lead is a cold-hearted heartbreaker, and the male lead’s devotion eventually gets him everything. Please don’t read if you can’t accept the male lead giving up a place at a top university to repeat a year for love.
