Chi Yan is the youngest three-star general in the Interstellar Alliance and the most mysterious special-operations captain. His battle record is illustrious, and under his command, the special-operations team has achieved countless miracles that cannot be made public. He is even described as a miracle in the military archives.

Then one day, the Alliance issued a new regulation: effective immediately, no one may undertake a mission alone.

So Captain Chi, who had always worked by himself, got a partner.

His partner was Jiang Shijing, an officer in charge of a new-recruit training camp. His rank and past service record were nothing special, and on top of that, he talked a lot.

In his first hour on the job, his partner said, "I wrote a little essay about Captain Chi. Feel free to check it out."

On his first day, his partner said, "You smell like my mom."

After their first mission, his partner said, "You're the younger brother."

Chi Yan had thought accepting this partner would be difficult, but in truth, they shared the most perfect rhythm, the deepest bond, and the brightest memories amid the everyday warmth of life.

It took Chi Yan very little time to realize he was the older brother, and just as little time to fall for him.

His restrained, unspoken "love" was not only because Jiang Shijing saw him as a younger brother, but also because they came from opposing sides.

He said, "I'll support any decision you make. But if we meet on the battlefield, I won't hold back."

He wanted to say, "I love you." This might be their last meeting, after all. But only one word passed his lips: "Okay."

"Xiao Yan, I'll wait for you to come home."

They say the special-operations team is full of cold-blooded people who live for killing, and that its captain is nothing but a mission machine, cold and inhuman.

It didn't take long for new teammate Jiang Shijing to discover that...
