Ye Shaoqing, the young son of Ye Zhenglian, the current prime minister, has been the talk of the town since he was a child. Everyone knows his name!

The Ye family has served as officials for generations. Ye Shaoqing's father, Ye Zhenglian, is the current prime minister, and his eldest brother is a mighty general who commands respect far and wide. But this young master...

Young Master Ye was mischievous as a child, and he hasn't changed a bit as an adult. Apart from his looks, he's the complete opposite of his eldest brother, Ye Shaoci.

Eating, drinking, and having fun, doing nothing at all. That's how the world describes Ye Shaoqing.

But Ye Shaoqing is so good-looking, and his family background is right there for all to see. Plenty of young ladies are still infatuated with him and fight tooth and nail to marry into the Ye family.

But not one has succeeded. His family used to think the young master would marry before his eldest brother, after all...

But unexpectedly, the eldest brother already had a child, while the young master was still single. As time passed, all kinds of rumors began to spread.

Eventually, people stopped trying. For one thing, no one had ever succeeded before. For another, the rumors put them off.

Only those in the know, namely the Ye family, understand what is really going on.

Father Ye, exasperated: "What on earth is wrong with you? Which book are you reading? Bring it here and let me see who said such nonsense!"

Young Master Ye: "Oh, don't get angry. You'll make yourself sick. I promise, if I haven't met that kind of person by the time I'm thirty, I'll get married right away."

Father Ye snorted. "We'll see which girl would ever agree to marry you by then!"

As it turned out, Young Master Ye really did wait for that kind of person, and that person was Gu Li, the top scorer in the imperial examinations.

But his father was right about one thing: no girl married him, because he married into Gu Li's family.
