After quitting his previous job, Chen Xiao returned to his hometown and opened a little restaurant where he could do as he pleased. He serves ten tables a day, then closes up.
Recently, he picked up a new hobby: getting spa massages at the wellness salon across the street. The gold-medal spa therapist's massages felt so good that he could forget all about his back injury.
What? The young masseur got kicked out by his landlord and has nowhere to stay?
The older man ran a hand through his slightly curled long hair and smiled around his cigarette. "Want to stay here? I've got plenty of spare rooms."
Shi Yin looked up at him with puppy-dog eyes and bowed politely. "Big Brother, thank you so much."
Thrifty and good at keeping house, Shi Yin came to live with the older man, cleaned up Chen Xiao's doghouse until it was spotless, and even threw in a free massage every day.
He took such good care of the man that Chen Xiao grew more and more pleased with him and simply waived his rent.
Only later did Chen Xiao realize that the one he'd brought home wasn't a docile pet dog, but a stray wolfdog who'd learned to hide his ferocity behind a well-behaved facade.
Once Chen Xiao saw the viciousness beneath that obedience, he couldn't bring himself to be harsh with him.
Note: A baby appears in the middle and later parts. The two of them will raise the baby, who is the gong's younger brother.
