Growing up, Lu Youming's favorite thing was following Cheng Yushen around. She did so for more than ten years.
Her feelings for him had long since crossed the line, but he was still standing where he'd always been.
When they met again, the little girl had grown into a woman. Her alluring, expressive peach-blossom eyes, rosy lips and pearly teeth, snow-white skin, and graceful figure made her a bona fide little seductress.
She composed herself and greeted him with a bright smile, calling him by his full name instead of "Brother."
At a banquet, Lu Youming had a little too much to drink. Eyes hazy, she stumbled over to Cheng Yushen and, emboldened by the alcohol, rose on her tiptoes and bit his chin without mercy.
Later, someone saw the man lead Lu Youming into a corner. He bent close and coaxed her softly: "You can bite me however you like, and I'll indulge you, sweetheart."
Cheng Yushen was a wolf who had been lying in wait by Lu Youming's side for a long time.
On a moonlit night, Cheng Yushen tore off the mask he'd worn for so long and pulled her into his arms.
He murmured in her ear, "After letting you bite me for so long, don't you think it's time to pay me back?"
Lu Youming's heart skipped a beat. "W-what do I owe you?"
"You."

#A rose beaded with morning dew, pure and vivid, is the perfect way to describe you#
My next book will be Rainy Day. Please add it to your favorites!
"The damp rain soaks the rotting summer.
You are the rain, and I am summer."
There was hardly a girl at school who didn't like someone like him, dazzling as a star and free as a fierce wind.
Ji Mingxia was no exception.
It was a very damp, rainy day. Ji Mingxia was left behind, sheltering beneath the eaves. The rain and mist stretched on, soaking the whole summer.
She thought she'd have to wait there until the rain stopped. Then a boy came through the rain with an umbrella, his thick brows and dark eyes striking, his open white shirt fluttering in the wind.
Ji Mingxia's breath caught. It felt as if that umbrella sheltered more than just a rainy day.
It sheltered her gloomy girlhood, and the heartbeat of her entire youth.
When you're young, it's hard not to meet a god with a tender heart. To most girls, Chen Muchi was that god.
The boy was so pure, untouched by any trace of impurity, like snow on earth and the moon in the heavens. You couldn't help wanting to draw near, yet couldn't bear to take him away.
On Christmas Eve, everyone exchanged apples. Ji Mingxia prepared one for Chen Muchi, too, but he was so popular that too many people wanted to give him apples. She was kept at a distance and never got the chance.
On their way home after school, Chen Muchi struck up a pointed conversation with her. "It's Christmas Eve today."
Ji Mingxia had something on her mind, too. "Then you must have gotten a lot of apples."
The chilly winter air seemed warmer beneath the dim yellow streetlights. Their shadows stretched long across the ground, one tall and one short.
He suddenly stopped, thinking of all the girls who had clamored to give him apples that day, only to be turned down. His lips curved. "Quite a few, actually."
Her fingers tightened around her backpack straps. Suddenly, his shadow fell over her as he leaned in. His dark eyes were unfathomable.
When he looked at her so unguardedly, Ji Mingxia couldn't help feeling her heartbeat quicken.
"But I've always had a strange quirk."
They were standing very close. Ji Mingxia clasped her hands and held her breath. "What... what quirk?"
"I can't stomach anyone else's."
"So," he held out his hand, his dark, deep eyes filled with her stunned expression.
Chen Muchi gave a slight smile. "How long are you going to make me wait for yours?"
Rainy days were Ji Mingxia's least favorite kind of weather. But after meeting Chen Muchi, she looked forward to every rainy day to come.
Because he was a rare light in her life.
She eventually gave him the apple from Christmas Eve, blushing and short of breath, but she didn't forget to ask him why. He didn't answer that day.
It wasn't until a Christmas Eve years later that Chen Muchi gave her an apple of his own. Inside the box was a note answering the question she'd asked so long ago.
On the thin slip of paper, the boy's handwriting was neat and strong.
Her heart blossomed.
"You're not just anyone."
