Immortal Lord, Times Have Changed

The proper title is The Diviner

Lin Songting, an archaeology intern, spends her vacation working at a construction site for her teacher. A few quick scrapes with her shovel uncover her own family's tomb, and she gets pretty excited.

After the break, she returns to Mount Taihua and joins her sect in taking part in an industry event: a new-age physical exorcism. She's even more excited.

During the vacation, a girl falls from the sky right outside her home. Lin Songting takes a look and thinks: Well, well! A little thief has come all the way to a Taoist temple to steal things?

It's her first time catching a thief, and she's so excited she immediately twists the girl's arms behind her back and drags her toward the police station. A group of elders wail and stop her.

The temple master, her teacher, trembles with anger and scolds her: "You unfilial disciple! She's your founding ancestor, Lord Taihua!"

Lin Songting: "But she stole my sword!"

The ancestor: "..."

Taking back what belongs to you from your own fiefdom isn't stealing.

Later, Lin Songting returns to Mount Taihua's Taihua Temple with Lord Taihua. The security guard stops the "ancestor" at the entrance and scolds her: "You're so young. How can you have no manners? You even snuck in without a ticket!"

This feudal antique, who had never been struck by the iron fist of socialism, is baffled. Lin Songting can only comfort her: "Immortal Lord, times have changed."
