Although Cheng Chen is a veteran horror writer, he's actually a coward. After an electric shock accident, his consciousness was trapped inside the horror VR game Horror Night Burial. To survive, he has no choice but to desperately raise the favorability of Cheng Haiyun, whose combat stats are maxed out and who absolutely hates him. The path is incredibly difficult, but if he doesn't want to be scared to death by ghosts, he'll just have to grit his teeth and go for it!
This story is told in first person. The male lead was straight before entering the game, so if you absolutely have to divide things into top and bottom perspectives, this is definitely from the top's perspective. There are no sex scenes in the story. In a fast-paced horror game like this, running for your life every day is exhausting enough. There's no way anyone's going to get it on, though they can team up and fight monsters.
The male lead is a screaming chicken in the early stages. We understand him, since courage isn't something you can just summon. After he gets used to being scared and discovers his talent, he enters his Cheng Chen Holmes mode. Of course, the game only lasts eight days. There's only so much you can get used to in eight days, so he'll definitely still be a screaming chicken.
Here's a little scene 1:
Everyone: Aaaah! It's thundering and raining, and a bunch of dead people are walking around outside with umbrellas in the middle of the night!
Cheng Haiyun: Really? I don't believe it. (Dashes outside in a flash.)
Cheng Haiyun: There's nothing there. It's just a natural optical illusion.
Everyone: Behind you! Behind you!
Little scene 2:
Cheng Haiyun: Look, there's a ghost hanging from that tree up ahead!
Cheng Chen: You're so disrespectful to ghosts! Can't it have a name?
Cheng Haiyun: What should we call it? (Serious expression.)
Cheng Chen: Let's call it a hanging ghost.
Theme: When facing adversity, don't despair. Face the challenge head-on!
