Synopsis

As a model royal knight who inherited all the finest qualities of the rowdy infighting squad, Nidhogg got kicked out of the temple by the World Tree after picking a fight.

Unfortunately, the kick was so powerful that Nidhogg broke through the dimensional barrier and landed in Gotham.

At least the landing was successful.

Everything seemed perfect, aside from the fact that she'd turned back into an egg and knocked out a little boy named Wayne.

Little Bruce had a secret.

The Easter Bunny had given him an egg.

With help from his parents and the butler, little Bruce carefully looked after the egg, hoping a little rabbit would hatch from it.

At last, the egg hatched, and out crawled a... black lizard.

Little Bruce: ???

Why did a rabbit egg hatch such an ugly lizard???

Little Bruce thought about it, then patted its head. "Don't worry. Even if you're ugly and have no fur, I'll still love you."

Nidhogg: You're the ugly one, you two-legged creature. Grr!

Little Bruce, now a little curly-haired boy from being scorched: My bunny is gone. It's turned into a black lizard, and it even breathed fire at me!

The Gotham darling of later years also had a secret.

He had a dragon.

Yes, a black dragon from myth and legend, said to gnaw on the World Tree and bring about the apocalypse: Nidhogg.

Back home, Brucey Baby looked at the little black dragon sprawled on the carpet, pretending to be dead as usual, and wore a deeply thoughtful expression.

So myths really are all lies.

His little black dragon was obviously so adorable. How could it possibly destroy the world?

"A slightly more serious take"

No one believed dragons existed in this world.

Until one day, when alien monsters invaded. A deafening roar sounded in the sky, and scorching flames reduced the monsters' nest to ashes.

A black dragon large enough to blot out the sky descended from the clouds, its eyes crimson and its fangs bone-white. Under the wary gazes of the superheroes, it bowed its head to Gotham's Dark Knight.

"My name is Nidhogg."

"I belong to the World Tree and am a member of the Royal Knights. I have come for you."

★ Nidhogg is a heavily reimagined Digimon based on the black dragon of myth and legend.

★ The characters will inevitably be out of character. The plot is heavily altered, the timeline is all mixed up, and the characters are made dumber.

★ The author doesn't ship men together.

★ I love Batman and his whole family of little birds! (shouting loudly)

Theme: No matter what situation you're in, never give up hope
