[Main Story Complete] Extra chapters updated at 6 p.m.
Two of Bincheng’s wealthiest families join forces through marriage.
Everyone in their circle is talking about how Chu Xi finally managed to marry into the Xie family, even though Xie Qi doesn’t love her.
Everyone knows Xie Qi is cold and loveless. Poor Chu Xi, refusing to see reason.
Their honeymoon takes them over a cliff. Before she blacks out, she sees his expression, calm and unreadable. The heart she had tried so hard to warm finally turns cold.
When Chu Xi wakes up in the hospital room, she eyes the handsome, refined man before her suspiciously. “Who are you?”
Xie Qi raises his eyelids, expressionless. “Your husband.”
Her eyes fly open in horror, and disgust practically spills from them. “Impossible! I’m an artist!”
An artist could never love someone as rigid and proper as Xie Qi.
An artist has to set him free.
At a banquet, everyone in their circle comes to watch Chu Xi make a fool of herself, to see how the man she begged to marry would treat her coldly.
Instead, they’re left completely dumbfounded.
Chu Xi has no idea. She secretly follows the progress bar toward divorce.
On purpose, she gazes dreamily at the rugged, uninhibited, artistic-looking man in the corner, right in front of that jerk.
“What are you looking at?”
“Honey, look! That man’s every last strand of hair is exactly my type!”
Xie Qi looks down at her as she excitedly shakes his hand. “Him! He’s my ideal type!” Her eyes sparkle as she gestures. “I want to marry him!”
With eyes black as ink, Xie Qi crouches to meet her gaze. After a long silence, he gives a soft, mocking laugh. “Dream on, darling.”
That night, Xie Qi’s dark eyes are fathomless as he traps Chu Xi in his arms, holding her as if he wants to meld her into his very bones. His voice is low and hoarse. “Were you doing it on purpose?”
Chu Xi squirms away, her eyes darting. “Anyway, we… haven’t done that. So maybe we should just… call it quits?”
At last, the truth is out. Chu Xi presses her lips together. “Shall we go to the civil affairs office tomorrow?”
“Heh.” Xie Qi laughs coldly and lowers his head, the tip of his nose against her delicate neck. His sharp canine grazes her tender skin as his breathing grows heavier. “Say it again. Who are you going to marry?”
I don’t understand love, but you taught me. How could I possibly let you go?
Chu Xi is deeply moved, so she packs her things and runs away in the middle of the night.
[Coming Soon] You’d Better Not Regret It
After her boyfriend cheats on her and her attempt to claim the freedom to choose who she loves fails, An Jin lowers her head and accepts her family’s arranged marriage.
Overnight, the ruthless up-and-comer Fu Hanshi becomes her husband.
A marriage between wealthy families is always the same, isn’t it? But after a month together, she realizes that Fu Hanshi may be distant, but he isn’t as awful as people say.
So she truly accepts him and brings him into her social circle.
Newlyweds, An Jin takes Fu Hanshi to meet her friends.
At the gathering, they run into her scummy ex. Seeing the tall, strikingly handsome man beside her, he turns red-eyed with jealousy. His big hand clamps around her wrist like a crab’s claw, and he drags her outside without a word.
Panicking, An Jin reaches for Fu Hanshi, hoping he’ll save her. “Hanshi!”
But he doesn’t move an inch. His ink-dark eyes remain fixed on her, calm and unruffled.
As she’s dragged around the corner, she sees Fu Hanshi calmly telling her friends, as he leisurely straightens his cuff links and lowers his eyes indifferently, “Adults need to handle their own problems.”
Her husband watches another man drag her away without lifting a finger.
The light in An Jin’s eyes shatters. She stops struggling.
She doesn’t come home that night.
Fu Hanshi is cold and desireless. He thinks marriage is just another embellishment to his status. It brings him more support, so why not?
But later, he regrets it.
An Jin, however, walks past him with another man’s arm in hers, teasing him with a bright red smile. She doesn’t care at all about the ring on her ring finger, the symbol of her marriage.
“Mr. Fu, arranged marriages mean we each do our own thing. Don’t be so uptight.”
“How about I introduce you to someone?”
Theme: No one can defeat you except yourself. Live passionately, and never give up!
I don't understand why you don't abuse the male protagonist? Do you think it's enough for the male protagonist to regret himself? The male protagonist just lost his love, everything else happened.
This chapter says that the male protagonist gave the female protagonist enough sense of security, but in the extra story, the female protagonist broke up because she couldn't feel the male protagonist's love.
Hahaha, if you feel sad after seeing the ending, start reading from the first chapter, and then jump back to the first chapter when you see the ending, matryoshka warning!
I always feel that Mr. Xie doesn't like Lin Zai at this time...
Damn, were you serious more than two years ago?
Why is this Chu Xiao so good and bad? Is he a villain? (Jumping to watch)
