Teacher Akutagawa and Mr. Dazai

The author's results are too poor, so updates are paused while I study math. I promise to finish after the 2022 college entrance exams.

"Professor Akutagawa, there's Golden Bat and Shikishima. Didn't you say you'd had enough of Sultana lately? Look, "

"Dazai, don't bring Professor Akutagawa cigarettes. He's quitting, you know.

Wait, Professor Akutagawa," the librarian suddenly took a sharp, careful sniff.

"Why does it smell like smoke?"

She turned to look at Dazai Osamu, who had snuck over from the Bungo Stray Dogs section.

"You're sick of Sultana, Dazai? Have you been secretly bringing Professor Akutagawa cigarettes all this time? I told you he's quitting. Quitting!"

"Professor Akutagawa, please don't smoke anymore. Your lungs will get ruined, with a big hole in them. Look." She pulled out a photo.

"Is that so? I really can't smoke?"

"Professor Akutagawa, you really mustn't."

"Sensei, sensei, don't listen to her. Look, I'm smoking too. I have a hole in my lung, so let's do it together. Ah, let's get sick together, let's die together." A flower appeared beside Dazai Osamu, growing increasingly lovestruck.

"Dying for love with Professor Akutagawa would be wonderful."

"Dazai, please don't do that. You shouldn't behave like this.

Professor Akutagawa, no! Don't listen to him!"

"But isn't Dazai inviting me? It would be rude to refuse." Akutagawa took out a cigarette, but the librarian snatched it from him and hurriedly backed away.

"A hundred and eighty cigarettes a day. Something really will happen to you."

Dazai Osamu seized the cigarette while she was distracted and took a drag, choking until his eyes watered. Coughing, he tried to explain why he'd called him "Dazai."

"Professor Akutagawa, we're close enough that you don't have to be so formal. Just call me Aji."

"All right, Aji. Dazai, I mean, Aji, if it hurts, you shouldn't smoke." Akutagawa stopped what he was doing and answered very seriously.

"I won't smoke either. I know it goes against your principles, so don't force yourself on my account. Let's do something else."
