The Handsome Top Scholar and I Were Forced Into a Happy Ending

Fu Wanwan's father was the Duke of Wei, and her mother was a princess royal.

She grew up spoiled, always getting whatever she wanted, whether it was the stars or the moon.

When she was fifteen, the newly appointed top scholar walked past Fu Wanwan. He had a face as handsome as jade and an elegant air.

Fu Wanwan's heart fluttered, and she fell for him completely.

Unfortunately, the top scholar wasn't interested in her.

Faced with the imperial decree arranging their marriage, Lu Chiyuan remained calm and respectful.

"The mistress of the Lu family must be virtuous and gracious, gentle and dignified, devoted to her husband and children, and regard her husband as her heaven. If Princess Jingyuan can do all that, why would I refuse to marry her?"

Fu Wanwan got goosebumps listening to him, and quickly gave up on him.

On the day of the spring hunt, all things were coming back to life.

Fu Wanwan and Lu Chiyuan fought over a wild deer and both fell off a cliff, leaving them alone together overnight.

When they were found, she was sleeping soundly with her head on Lu Chiyuan's lap.

Now there was no way to explain things away. She had to marry him, whether she wanted to or not.

Remembering the frightening pile of rules in the Lu household, Fu Wanwan laid down three conditions with Lu Chiyuan. "I won't be a Lu family wife, and you won't act like a son-in-law of the Duke of Wei's residence. We'll divorce after a while."

Lu Chiyuan sneered. "I couldn't ask for more."

Later, someone asked Lu Chiyuan why he didn't take another wife, one who was virtuous and gracious.

Dressed impeccably, Lu Chiyuan smiled and said, "It's only because my wife loves me so deeply. I fear breaking her heart."

Everyone praised Lord Lu for his noble virtue.

Fu Wanwan cursed him. "You beast!"
