The Tragic Novel's Heroine Doesn't Follow the Script!

This is a romance! Not contracted! Super short! (I picked the wrong tags, and changing them would mean bothering the editor. The whole story might only be a few thousand words, so it probably shouldn't have tags at all~)

My name is Li Pei. I transmigrated into a book, an old-school angst novel called "Love Me? Then Torment Me!" I successfully followed the plot and rescued the male lead from the thugs chasing him, but

The male lead, handcuffed and charged with "fighting and disorderly conduct," stared deeply at me. "Woman, I'll remember you!"

The System that had assigned me the mission also glared at me in exasperation. "You're something else!"

I didn't understand, so I shot back a "?"

1. The inspiration came from a question I saw on Zhihu a few months ago: What novels or stories have you read that don't follow the usual tropes?

I was struck by inspiration and wrote an answer, then deleted it. I also tried writing a blurb a few times based on the idea, hoping to use it for an upcoming novel, but it didn't work out. The few hundred words of inspiration sat gathering dust in my documents for months. When I came across them by chance, I thought it was a shame to waste them, so...

I might as well start a short story of a few thousand, maybe ten thousand words. Super short, really super short. No contract, updates whenever~

2. A first-person, trope-subverting comedy.

Theme: Crack down on all illegal romantic behavior!
