The Bee King Is Back to Patrol the Mountains

[The upcoming novel The Unreliable Imperial Crocodile Family is available in the author's collection.] One natural disaster after another left the Earth in ruins. After plants and animals mutated, widespread die-offs followed. Animal populations plummeted, and green cover across vast areas deteriorated. Feng Ning survived on a devastated Earth for ten years, only to be murdered by his teammates. Before he died, he was given an unreliable flower-planting System and reborn as a bee larva. From then on, Feng Ning shouldered the responsibility of restoring the Earth's greenery. His first task was to cover the mountain range where he lived with blooming flowers. Once he became an adult and grew wings, Feng Ning began planting flowers on the mountain, completing missions and unlocking more flower varieties to improve his physique. When the old queen bee retired, the strongest in the colony, Feng Ning, was elected the new king. His first act as king wasn't to organize honey production, but to send all his underlings out to plant flowers! Many other bee species still lived in the mountains. When the wasps came looking for trouble, Feng Ning led his bee colony in beating them into submission. Now he had another group of underlings to help him plant flowers. Once a mountain was full of greenery, Feng Ning used the plants to take over the next one, organizing scattered bee colonies to help him cultivate the land. The bees of the mountains were on edge, avoiding Feng Ning at all costs. "The Bee King is patrolling the mountains again!" At the sound of this, the bees scattered in every direction. Before long, most of the flowers Feng Ning had planted were in bloom. The bees gathered pollen and made honey, and Feng Ning got to enjoy a different flavor every day, living the leisurely life of a mountain king. The colony, too, had entered an unprecedented era of happiness. The various bee clans all offered to send their strongest females. However, their Bee King seemed to have set his sights on an outsider: a human. [Important note] Dear readers, the author knows perfectly well that in the real world, a bee king, or queen, is female, and is the one who lays eggs. But this story is not about animals in the real world. It is a fantasy novel set in an alternate universe. Most of the creatures in it have special traits added to their original characteristics. So in this story, the Bee King is the Bee King, and the Bee Queen is the Bee Queen. There is no contradiction between the two. Blurb for Mining Is My Specialty [Interstellar]: In an interstellar age dominated by mechanical products, metal ores are in short supply, giving rise to a new profession: Star Prospectors. Among these prospectors are many exceptionally gifted individuals, members of the Stone Clan, a race hatched from rocks. The Stone Clan's ancestral homeland fell several hundred years ago, and the clan gradually declined. By all rights, Shi Yi should have been born bearing the hopes of his entire clan. Even if he only worked on and off, his innate talent for finding ore would eventually make him a mining magnate, perched atop the interstellar world of wealth. Until one day, the idle Shi Yi saw in his companion mirror that someone else had beaten him to becoming the richest person in the world. At last, Shi Yi, who had been content to laze around, felt the urge to venture out and make his mark. Kou Ji was hailed by the people of the entire Interstellar Alliance as a God of War. He protected the world while alive and saved it with his dying act, earning the admiration of billions. In truth, though, he was an unlucky wretch abandoned by everyone. His family, friends, and superiors all betrayed him in turn, and in the end, the Interstellar Alliance sacrificed him to a black hole to save the world. When he opened his eyes, he was back at seventeen, before anything had begun. Determined to change his fate, Kou Ji immediately switched his major to mecha engineering and decided to live a wealthy, carefree life from then on. Save the world? To hell with that! Hoping to get his hands on more rare ore in the future, Kou Ji approached Shi Yi, the future mining magnate from his previous life, who shouldn't have been at the school at all, with less than innocent intentions. But Shi Yi kept playing little tricks on him, openly and behind the scenes. Kou Ji, once pursued by countless men and women, thought: Hah, cute trick. You just want to get my attention. Later... The two of them ended up in the same bed. Holding his sweetheart, Kou Ji said, "My money is your money, and your money is still your money." Shi Yi was successfully talked into it.
