Where Did I Get a Boyfriend?

Many people told An Sen that he ought to have a boyfriend.

His boyfriend was mysterious and devoted, with a face that could make anyone swoon. Countless people envied An Sen, but the boyfriend only had eyes for him. He loved An Sen deeply.

Unfortunately, his boyfriend met with an accident and died young. Because of this, An Sen moved to another city and changed jobs.

But after a month of wallowing in despair, An Sen suddenly came to his senses.

Wait a minute. Where had he gotten a boyfriend from?

A nameless monster from the abyss, arrogant, greedy, and aloof, it looked down on humanity and toyed with insignificant humans at will.

It deliberately altered one human's memories, deceived and misled him, making him believe it was his boyfriend. In the end, it accidentally died right in front of him.

But death is not the end. For a monster, making another body is only a matter of time.

A month later, the monster began to panic.

Its boyfriend was gone.

A story like Tomie: a monster seme that can split apart versus a calm, rational, gentle uke.

Reader Notes:

1. Main character is the uke.

2. Slightly Lovecraftian, but not scary.

3. The blurb has been revised, but the core premise is unchanged.

Reader Notes:

1. Blurb pending: naive researcher x alien life-form that can disguise itself and split apart.

2. Similar to a certain foundation's setting.

Theme: Never surrender to fate; live earnestly and work hard.
