Little Radish Sprout of the Apocalypse

In the tenth year of the apocalypse, supplies grew increasingly scarce. Fresh vegetables were especially hard to come by. Ordinary people could go an entire year without seeing so much as a single stalk.

When his mother fell ill, the boy Chu Yuyun risked his life to search the remote mountains and forests for edible wild greens. Then he found a thin little radish that looked like it hadn't finished growing.

Radishes could be served cold, stir-fried, or made into soup. Just as Chu Yuyun picked up a gleaming kitchen knife to cut it, the little radish suddenly burst into tears. "Don't eat me! I'll be good!"

The little ginseng sprout had grown up in a radish patch beside a Taoist temple, always believing itself to be a radish.

It was quite capable, a real little expert at growing vegetables. Every time it finished bathing, it watered the garden with its bathwater, and the vegetables grew bigger and tastier.
