The False White Lotus and the Black-Hearted Lotus

As a companion adopted by Madam Sheng for her children, Enshu learned all too well what it meant to depend on someone else's favor.

Given a second chance at life, she swore never again to be a meek, fragile little white flower. She was determined to become an expert at pretending to be a white lotus.

And so a saintly white lotus appeared out of nowhere, spreading her radiance far and wide, all while flirting with everyone in sight.

When faced with an injured school queen bee, Enshu offered her thoughtful care: “Such pretty hands shouldn't be left with scars. Let me bandage them for you~”

When faced with a classmate who needed encouragement, Enshu smiled sweetly: “You're so talented. I'm sure you can do it~”

When faced with the pitiful young master of the Sheng family, Enshu was unusually earnest: “Brother, I'll do my best to protect you!”

With her impressive white-lotus skills, Enshu won the support of one powerful person after another.

They all devoted themselves to protecting her, convinced that such a pure and kind girl was a rare treasure in this world, and that they could never let worldly corruption touch her.

At a banquet hosted by a prominent family, Enshu was mocked again because of her status.

She stood quietly, her big eyes reddening as she bit her lip and said nothing. Her show of silent strength instantly broke the hearts of all her powerful protectors.

Protector Number One declared righteously, “What has a girl as wonderful as Enshu ever done to you? How could you bring yourselves to hurt her?”

Protector Number Two stood up for her with all his might: “Enshu is under my protection. If you bully her, you're picking a fight with me!”

Protector Number Three... Wait? The top financial magnate barged in with a commanding air: “Enshu is my daughter. Let's see who dares bully her!”

Everyone: “Huh?!!!”

The passersby who had mocked Enshu: “...” Suddenly terrified.

At first, Sheng Wen looked down on the girl who couldn't even protect herself but still claimed she would protect him.

Then he noticed that she always managed to sidestep danger with uncanny skill, quietly winning people's hearts along the way. Sheng Wen ran his tongue over his red lips and gave a strange smile. “...I think I smell one of my own.”

Finally, Sheng Wen had a crazy idea. He wanted to lock away the girl everyone adored and keep her all to himself, just to watch her lovely face streaked with tears and her cheeks flushed red...
