[Seeking Pre-Orders: The Summer Night in Jiangcheng That Year [Republican-Era Mystery]] A companion novel to this story
[An Iron-Blooded, Cold-Blooded Detective X A Stunningly Beautiful Diva]
Shui Ying was the eldest daughter of a scholarly family in Beiping and a forensic medicine doctor who had returned from studying abroad. But on her way home, her ship exploded, and she sank beneath the sea.
The people who murdered her were a mysterious organization whose mark was an ouroboros tattoo.
By a twist of fate, she transmigrated into the body of Shui Ying'er, a hugely popular Shanghai star.
Yan Yao was an iron-blooded detective in the International Settlement, brimming with raw masculinity. He was also the only son of a Shanghai tycoon and a distinguished young gentleman from a prominent family.
One day, he encountered the murder of a dance-hall girl. Her death was brutal, and a strange woman was at the scene.
He thought a starlet would be horrified by such a sight, but the woman rushed to the front lines to examine the corpse.
After that, bizarre cases came one after another:
Stirring up trouble across Shanghai, stumbling into a Miao village of the Phoenix, braving the ghost city of Fengdu, bidding farewell to the ancient capital of Beiping, escaping the shackles of Wancheng, and finally returning to Shanghai...
All kinds of characters take the stage:
A divine maiden from a Miao village, hidden away in legend; a domineering leader of the Green Gang; a mysterious young warlord; a wealthy comprador banker; a descendant of the Qing Dynasty with unfathomable motives; a stunningly cold spy from an enemy nation... But most of all, ordinary people living amid the bustling world.
As endless darkness descends upon the world,
the two join hands and vow to dispel the layers of fog and restore peace and justice to the world!

1. The blurb screenshot is dated 2024.5.2.
2. A mystery novel set in the Republican era, with a touch of an ensemble cast, sweet, satisfying, and thrilling, with twists upon twists. There are some original settings, so please be understanding. One-on-one romance, happy ending, both leads are virgins.
3. Content warning: The second male lead conceals his identity at first and seems silly and sweet, but later reveals a hidden ruthless side and goes mad for love.
4. The author has completed other novels, available in the author's collection: Bright Moon in Brocade Robes [Mystery], July's Falling Stars, August's Queen, When the Troublemaker Becomes a Lab Mouse, and Do Not Do Unto Cats What You Do Not Want Done to You.
Seeking Pre-Orders for this story's companion novel: The Summer Night in Jiangcheng That Year [Republican-Era Mystery]. Blurb:
(The story is told in the third person from the heroine's perspective. I only appear briefly at the beginning or end of some cases.)
I was born in Jiangcheng, Wuhan, and worked at the Police Museum. By chance, I found a yellowed wedding photograph. The man and woman in it were both exceptionally striking.
During the Republican era, they opened a detective agency and solved many bizarre cases.
The man had a pair of exceptionally beautiful phoenix eyes and was graceful and charming. When he was young, he returned from studying abroad with a reputation as a playboy. There was no sport he couldn't master, from horse racing and boxing to fighting crickets. Yet he later solved one strange case after another and became a legend in the field.
The woman wore a spotless wedding dress and held a bouquet. She seemed serene and gentle, like a freshly peeled lychee, and was renowned as a female Zhuge Liang. She had graduated with a degree in mathematics and was especially sensitive to data.
To bring their forgotten story back to light, I began visiting the places where they had once solved cases, hoping to piece together the thrilling, turbulent history of their investigations...
Case One: The Tomb of Ten Thousand Infants, the Tower of Bones
Case Two: Liangdao Street, the Gold-Digging Case
Case Three: Greater Hankou, the Two-Nail Case
Case Four: The Dragon King's Wrath, Jiangcheng in Ruins
Theme: Punish the wicked and uphold justice, love your country
Each paragraph is obviously normal, but when put together, the plot seems a bit supernatural. The second meeting between the male and female protagonists, well, there was a great understanding, and they looked very much like a couple.
Wow, this has become a temporary forensic doctor for no reason. The key is that the male protagonist asked for it. Absurd.
I have always been curious about this book, but I didn't see any reviews. I thought the writing style was okay, so I came in to sort out the mines myself~ By the way, do people in Shanghai also call themselves sir? Hhhh
Why does the male protagonist have to tell the female protagonist everything? I think the female protagonist is also suspicious. Du Er was ruined because of love and hatred. After all, no one else knows that the heroine's soul has changed.
""Master Zhou poked him a few times with his cane" gave the author a big bug~ Guo
Xiao Li cannot be the son of the leader of the Dark Night Organization.
Xiao Li didn't know that eggs have shells, which shows that his family background is not simple either.
Woo woo woo woo woo woo woo, lovers cannot get married 😭
15!
The freeze frame in the last paragraph is so graphic! It really looks like the ending of "Season 2"
