A Northeastern Tough Guy and a Southern Bourgeois

Also titled My Husband Was Waiting Outside the Civil Affairs Bureau

Ji Xiao stood outside the Civil Affairs Bureau, holding his household registration book under the blazing sun, waiting for the boyfriend he'd been dating for five years to come register their marriage. He waited for ages, but the man never showed.

He called him, but a stranger answered. Her voice was sultry and full of provocation. "Sorry, Xiao-ge. He drank too much and was out late having fun last night, so I'm afraid he can't make it. Why don't you two register tomorrow instead?"

Ji Xiao gripped his phone until it was rock hard. "I'll register today just to show you two!"

He'd made his threat, but how could he register by himself? He turned and spotted a man nearby in flip-flops, baggy shorts, and a tank top. The man still had half a salty ice pop in his mouth as he shouted, "You bastard, you're telling me now that there's someone else? Why don't you just fly to the moon? I've already got the whole banquet arranged!"

Bian Cheng, whose call had just been cut off, was in a foul mood. He paused when his gaze met Ji Xiao's. "What are you looking at?"

Ji Xiao asked, "Hey, man, are you into men or women?"

And that's how Ji Xiao and Bian Cheng registered their marriage together. Bian Cheng took Ji Xiao to his wedding banquet, and Ji Xiao helped Bian Cheng dump his cheating boyfriend. Together, they set off toward a happy life.
