The top student doesn't talk much, but he's good-tempered, always answers questions, and treats people politely. He shines like a lighthouse along Mu Wen's path to turning his grades around.

But one day, Mu Wen realizes the top student has suddenly changed.

The top student sleeps in class. Mu Wen pokes him and reminds him to pay attention.

The top student skips class to get into a fight. Mu Wen tries to stop him but fails, and can only stand nearby, wanting to speak but not daring to.

The top student gets a score of fifty for the first time ever. Mu Wen takes the test paper to him.

The top student looks at Mu Wen's test paper, marked with a score of thirty, and falls silent.

After a moment, he rubs his brow. "...What on earth is this you've written?"

"Come here. I'll teach you."

Mu Wen has a secret: he likes his desk mate.

His desk mate says he's not a good person. He cruelly teases Mu Wen when no one's watching, snaps at him while explaining problems, and is always making fun of the test papers covered in red X's. But Mu Wen still likes him.

He keeps this secret well hidden, until the day he's caught staring at his desk mate for the thirty-eighth time.

The cool, aloof boy stops twirling his pen, looking thoroughly impatient. Just as Mu Wen nervously tries to explain, he's suddenly pulled into the boy's arms.

"...Never mind. I can tell you don't."

"It's fine. I'll teach you."
