Upcoming story: [Anime Crossover] Opening Secret Identities Again Today by Xi Ru Yan [Secret-identity story, and nobody's identity is exposed throughout the entire novel.] After accidentally obtaining the [Book], Kazama Ran awakened an ability: a fraud-based secret identity. The more people believe the secret identities he creates are real, the stronger he becomes. So: ① The red-haired boy gave a smile brighter than the sun. Reaching out, he caught the white dove carrying an olive branch as it fell through the air, using his wrist. He promised with complete conviction, "Then it's a promise. You have to keep it, okay?" --- Osamu Dazai, Run, Melos! ② The little black cat, held by the scruff by a calico cat, struggled nonstop. You'd never guess this cat was the king of all cats in the Pits. He loudly meowed in a language humans couldn't understand: "Let go! Let go of me!" --- Natsume Soseki, I Am a Cat ③ The usually aloof boy looked calm and relaxed as he reattached the limbs of the lifelike doll in his arms. "I finally found you, Sis..." The living doll seemed to glance at the onlookers with a smile, making the tiny crack at the corner of her lips all the more noticeable. --- Edogawa Ranpo, The Nonhuman Lover ④ The boy stood still with his hands in his pockets, saying in a rapturous, delighted voice, "This is the most beautiful sight in the world, isn't it?" The concrete beneath his feet gradually turned transparent, like a mirror, reflecting another, distorted and sinister Yokohama. --- Edogawa Ranpo, The Mirror Hell ⑤ "Is life and death really that important?" The pale blond boy looked impatient. Only after taking a sip of pudding did he continue, as if it were obvious: "Aren't they the same thing?" "Life is death, and death is life. Only the soul and pudding matter." --- Leo Tolstoy, Resurrection Theme: As long as you hold on to hope, you will find the light.
