The Rose Lover

Legend has it that when roses encounter their destined lover, they grow wildly. Their thorny stems wrap around their beloved until they suffocate, leaving them unable to ever get away.

A young Alpha general is widowed in the prime of her life. Since her late wife loved roses, she carefully cultivates a rose garden.

The roses thrive, their pink blooms spreading across half the interstellar realm, all thanks to her painstaking care.

Then, one day, every rose in the garden withers overnight.

She hurries home from a meeting, only to find a naked young woman standing among the withered roses.

The girl looks at her haughtily, her manner arrogant and her tone disdainful.

"Are you the servant who's been attending to me all this time?"

"In view of how carefully you've tended me, I'll allow you to stay by my side."

Everyone sees the Alpha general clench her fists, and assumes she's about to charge forward and challenge the girl to a duel. After all, they all know just how much their general loves her roses.

But, to their surprise, the general slowly unclenches her fists and approaches the girl with reverence and devotion.

She kneels on one knee and offers her own cloak, wrapping the girl up so thoroughly that not a glimpse of her snowy-white skin remains.

"As you command, my dear princess."

She has waited for her for far too long.
