Half a Soft Candy

1. In other people's eyes, Lu Xingnan is pretty aloof.

Everyone at No. 13 High School considers him a top student, even a genius, but they don't dare approach him easily. He's the sort of person you can admire from afar but never touch.

But only Ruan Tang knows how obnoxious Lu Xingnan is in private!

On the night after the college entrance exams, Lu Xingnan sent Ruan Tang an ambiguous message, testing the waters before confessing his feelings.

Ruan Tang, meanwhile, put as much effort into analyzing the message as she would an essay prompt, carefully considering whether Lu Xingnan's words had some hidden meaning or if he was just teasing her.

Barely a minute later, Lu Xingnan couldn't wait any longer and called Ruan Tang right on the dot.

Once she answered, he completely sidestepped what had just happened, as if nothing had occurred. All he wanted now was to ask Ruan Tang to see a movie with him the next day.

Ruan Tang: "..." This guy was such a waste of emotional energy!

2. [Library Rule Number Five: No food allowed inside]

"Hey, you're not allowed to eat in here. What are you...?"

In a quiet corner of the library, a soft, sweet complaint trailed off before it was finished.

Then a clear, bright male voice rang out, sounding amused. His rising inflection revealed just how good a mood he was in.

"You ate half of it, so you're an accomplice too. Still want to report me, hmm?"

"..."

"Is it sweet?"

"..."

"Want something even sweeter?"
