The Cat I Raised Turned into My Wife

Wu Nianwei kept a kitten for over a hundred years. At last, one day, the kitten turned into a human.

She had lived a long life, stumbling her way through it, with only one wish in her heart: to wait for Qiyu to return, then hear her call her by name once more.

Now, Wu Nianwei held her kitten-turned-wife in her arms, weeping with emotion.

The little cat in her arms smacked her on the forehead and ordered her in a soft, childlike voice:

"Hey, human. I'm hungry."

Her wife had come back, but forgotten everything about her past. She had become a little girl of eleven or twelve, and sometimes turned back into a kitten.

Some things are better forgotten. Wu Nianwei took her little wife's hand and resolved to raise her and watch her grow up. After all, her own life was long, long enough to stay by her side until the end of time.

.

Qiyu had once been a ferocious cat demon in the mountains. She had abducted the delicate young lady of the Wu family and brought her to the mountains as emergency rations.

After raising her for ten years, she'd turned her into a grown girl, but had also fallen for her and couldn't bring herself to eat her. So she planned to send her back down the mountain.

But Wu Nianwei wouldn't have it.

She dyed a piece of red cloth to make a bridal veil, then dragged Qiyu into a wedding ceremony.

From then on, Qiyu had one fewer emergency ration, but gained a human wife more bewitching than any demon.

.

In the end, the cat demon lost her life, and the human gained longevity.

The human carried the little cat, transformed back into her original form and bereft of reason, along a long road, waiting for the cat demon to awaken.

When the cat demon awoke from her deep sleep, she saw the human before her, laughing and crying at once. Her shattered soul was finally restored. She smacked the human on the forehead and ordered her imperiously:

"Hey, human. I'm hungry."

All that came before, joyful or sorrowful, I'll pretend I don't remember. I only want to hold you here and now.

1. A warm, sweet story with just a tiny bit of angst

2. Both are virgins, and they switch roles

3. It's short, and I'm slowly writing the whole thing before posting
