Later, he took on another mission: infiltrate the ruthless, bloodthirsty Demon King’s side and steal a priceless treasure. The reward was generous.

The plan went smoothly, and Yuan Run endured humiliation as he stayed by the Demon King’s side.

Until one day, he slipped into the bathing pool and saw the handsome, icy face beneath the Demon King’s mask. It looked especially familiar.

Yuan Run was terrified. His paw trembled, he lost his footing, and he fell in.

Lu Xiuyuan’s gaze fell on the little fox that had suddenly appeared.

Its fur was pure white, its four fluffy paws planted on his damp clothes, and its eyes were glistening with tears.

“Is it you?” Lu Xiuyuan stroked its ears, speaking each word gently.

The little fox, weighed down by belated remorse, froze for a moment, then nodded as if possessed.

“Then kill it,” Lu Xiuyuan said coldly.
