The Beloved Darling of Yokohama

[The story is complete. If you enjoyed it, please leave a rating!] -----Story Blurb----- Hill comes from the Dark Continent, a treasure nurtured for billions of years by the World Tree, Kabbalah. The World Tree is a miraculous species that can grow beyond the limits of time and space. And so Hill, born in its crown, came into the world in Yokohama, in another universe. To certain extraordinary "geniuses," Hill is someone who can see every dark side of them and understand their complicated personalities, yet still accept them. Like a golden sunflower blooming in the darkness, she draws them to her and stirs up an intense possessiveness. The "geniuses": * A certain suicidal man covered in darkness * A certain black-hearted Port Mafia boss * A certain hat-wearing boy who is the God of Calamity * A certain amnesiac with spatial abilities * A certain kindhearted Russian * The world's greatest detective * A certain jewel collector * The Death Detective, 010 * A worshipped sword spirit The list of "geniuses" keeps growing... Hill loves contradictions and the complexity of human nature. After meeting so many dark and conflicted people, she can't help exclaiming, "Everyone is so interesting!" The indescribable being from beyond this world, roiling in the darkness behind her, is stirred into a frenzy, too. [This story has been revised many times. The current version differs considerably from pirated sites, so you'll have a much better reading experience here.] A few things to know before reading: 1. Everyone dotes on the protagonist. It's very indulgent, with an enormous golden finger. The protagonist is chaotic neutral. See the cover for her design (chibi version). 2. The characters may be out of character, and there are original additions! The protagonist knows the plot and can stand her ground against the dark types. She's sweet and adorable, but not a naive pushover. If that's not your thing, feel free to leave. 3. The pairing is Dark Era Dazai. The romance isn't the focus; the story mainly features familial and friendship (bestie?) bonds. No angst, and everyone is adorable. 4. The Hunter x Hunter arc runs from chapters 69 to 90 and features characters from Bungo Stray Dogs crossing over. Skip it if you're not interested. 5. The extra story, "Armed Detective Agency Dazai's Child-Rearing Adventures," seems to have been well received. It's about everyone doting on the protagonist, raising a child, and lots of laughs. Feel free to read it on its own. ------------Coming Soon----------- "What Do I Do When Everyone Keeps Asking for Updates?" (Features a story within a story, with a satisfying, feel-good tone.) "Does This World Assign You a Dad?" (A sweet story about a little girl being doted on by a whole group of people as they raise her.) The world owed Dorothy a dad. So the world wrote Dorothy's father into the story's timeline. Soon, all sorts of people started showing up, each claiming to be her dad. Dad No. 1, who likes wearing bandages: He's dark to the core, but he's a good daddy who dotes on his daughter. Dad No. 2, who likes wearing a hat: He's short, but his daughter feels completely safe with him. Dad No. 3, the world's greatest detective: He keeps stealing his daughter's snacks, but he's extremely dependable when it counts. Dad No. 4, who lost his memory and gets cold easily: He may seem aloof, but he's great at caring for kids. Dad No. 5, whose household registration is in Russia: He believes all living things are sinful, but says his daughter is the only angel. Dad No. 6, who is a god: He likes everyday life, but he loves his daughter even more. Dad No. 7, the Tenth Boss of the Vongola Family: He's a good-for-nothing, but he's incredibly brave when protecting his daughter. Dad No. 8, a disciplinary committee member: He likes biting people to death, but he makes an exception for his daughter. Dad No. 9, the Underworld's top hitman: He's a demonic home tutor, but he's very careful and gentle with his daughter. Dad No. 10, who loves cotton candy: He's a big bad guy, but... (Dorothy: Actually, he's a cotton candy monster!) Dad No. 11, whose hair looks like a pineapple: He's easygoing, but takes being a dad seriously. -- 1. In a parallel world, each of these "dads" is Dorothy's real father. In the main world, they suddenly gain those memories. 2. A fluffy, indulgent fanfic where everyone dotes on the protagonist. Extra sweet and extra doting. Everything is in service of the story, and characters may be out of character. Please don't take it too seriously. Theme: Finding redemption, and being redeemed
