A Demon Crawled Out of the Painting

Yu Yaoyao is half a lotus blossom, hidden beneath a lotus leaf in a painting.

The painting's owner is the great demon who painted her.

After secretly watching the great demon for a long time, Yu Yaoyao blinked and thought to herself, The great demon is so gentle.

But why does it seem like none of the other demons or humans like spending time with him?

Watching the great demon's solitary figure, Yu Yaoyao thought that if the other demons wouldn't keep him company, she would.

And so...

The great demon went fishing, and in less than two minutes, he'd hooked a fish. Every time he cast his line, he caught one, and every last fish looked utterly resigned to its fate.

When the great demon went out, all kinds of little wild fruits would mysteriously appear on his cushion.

When the great demon went to sleep, someone secretly climbed out of the painting hanging on the wall... Yu Yaoyao met the gaze of the great demon standing in front of it.

Yu Yaoyao: !!!

Yu Yaoyao turned to climb back into the painting, only to discover that the great demon had somehow picked it up.

Yu Yaoyao: "..."

She gave the great demon an awkward smile and said softly, "Um, I'm not a bad demon."

The little demons in the great demon's residence all knew that a new demon had recently arrived, one who was unusually indulged by their master.

Lotus ponds had been built everywhere, and the newcomer especially liked hiding in them for an afternoon nap.

The rest of the time, the lotus demon would scamper after the great demon.

The little demons watched Yu Yaoyao eagerly leap into the great demon's fire pit, and marveled that there could be a demon so unafraid of death.

Yet the great demon, who normally kept everyone at a distance, really did let her jump in.

And she came out completely unscathed. She didn't even lose a petal.

The little demons: "..." This isn't right.
